Q.Who's idea was it to attack Ft. Ticonderoga in the Revolutionary War?
Adam Mueller, Salt Lake City, Utah
A.The capture of Ft. Ticonderoga has been credited to a number of people: which one actually had the idea, would be conjecture. Among these are Ethan Allen, Benedict Arnold, John Brown, and Will Gilliland. There are many books available on the topic...and general volumes with accounts of the capture, like the Encyclopedia of the American Revolution by Mark Boatner. You can find excerpts of first hand accounts of soldiers from the Revolution in books like "The Spirit of '76". I would suggest going to Ft. Ticonderoga directly for more information...you can write to them at Ft. Ticonderoga, Box 390, Ticonderoga, NY 12883
