On this spot the first editions of Thomas Paine's Common Sense were printed. It helped lead America to revolution with its incendiary rhetoric. The first chapter of Common Sense was read to the troops at Valley Forge during the winter of 1777. Paine was one of the loudest advocates for poltical and personal freedoms.
