We Hold These Truths

On December 15, 1791, the Bill of Rights, having been ratified by the requisite 3/4 of state legislatures, officially became part of the Constitution, and thus the highest law in the land.

On December 15, 1941, just 8 days after the attack on Pearl Harbor, this program celebrating the 150th anniversary of the passage of the Bill of Rights was broadcast on what were, at the time, the four major television networks, to an estimated 63 million listeners (almost half of the U.S. population).
