What is one to do when it is a country's own government that is the equal of a foreign invader. Who are the targets of revolution in such a circumstance? How can those people refer to the Constitution when such has already been renounced by corrupt judges? We who have read history know that the corrupt system must be renounced and a new Charter created that will repeal the present government--a Charter that will cure the defects of the Constitution that have allowed our present bankruptcy to occur.

I'm trying to date a Whilt & Yost Bible, undated with address as 805 Market Street. The title page reads: The Holy Bible, containing Old and new testaments, together with the apocrypha: translated out of the original tongues, and with the former translations diligently compared and revised. To which is appended, A concordance, the psalms of david in metre, an index, tables, and other useful matters. The text conformable to the Standard of the American Bible Society. Philadelphia: Published by Whilt & Yost Bible Manufacturers, 805 Market street. Can anyone help?

I was interested to read the 'timeline' of William Penn on your website, but noticed two mistakes you might like to correct: The Great Plague of London is generally dated as 1665, when it began; The Great Fire of London was in 1666.

Visited Philadelphia about 3 weeks ago for the first time. I was so pleasantly surprise in how clean the city was and also was amazed at the amount of history that stands amoung you. My wife and I went to your city after visiting her son in Hershey PA. He plays hockey for the Hershey Bears. We were not aware that Phili was so close to Hershey. Anyway, just wanted you to know that I enjoyed your city and I will be coming back again. Cheers

To Brian on his birthday. We celebrate with a daughter who is only 4 years old, who cannot only recite the entire Pledge of Allegiance, but also bursts into song in the street and belts out You're a Grand Old Flag! From the love of a father who right before bed each night before our daughter was born told me "grownup" bedtime "stories" of American history, weaving them in such a fascinating way, rather than the list of names, dates, and places that the history teachers I had in school recited. I never met another person so in love with history! As our daughter said, "Since daddy can't be with us, we'll celebrate his birthday for him." We're going to buy a helium Happy Birthday balloon and send it up to him in the sky tonight!

The American's Creed should be taught in elementary schools throughout the country and continued through high school. It is a document written by an american who loved his country. He wanted us to feel and be part of our heritage. Where we would always want to preserve our freedom and liberty for all. This creed can open a child's mind to the wonders that the United States of America has to offer its citizens and the sacrifices we are willing to make to protect our rights and happiness. Thank you

I have heard since I was a child the history of Shot Tower and have a copy of the one that was written by the Phila. Historical Commission and others. I have also heard from my childhood the "Legend of the Green Lady" associated with the Tower. Many tragic events have taken place there because of her influence, so the old wives tales go. Do you have any info about it? Please advise. Marge Moock Schernecke

So beautiful are the orations and spirit of Thomas Paine. To muster courage enabling him to stand up and speak out against tyranny. Little did he know then, that generations yet unborn were to benefit from his most noble of actions. All words of our Founding Fathers are worthy of inclusion into one's personal library, and in particular, Thomas Paine is in the forefront. With most heartfelt appreciation, my sincerest thanks, which I so humbly submit.

I am a Constitutionalist in political party, and firmly believe in B. Franklin's statement of " THEY WHO CAN GIVE UP ESSENTIAL LIBERTY TO OBTAIN A LITTLE TEMPORARY SAFETY DESERVE NEITHER LIBERTY NOR SAFETY." February 17, 1776, in todays Homeland Security rules Americans have given liberties up for the pretense of security which seems worse to me.

Be they republican or democrat it is truly hard to find an honest politican anymore . What do liberal progressives celebrate on Independance Day?
Donna S. Jones, Age 61, Orlando, FL [07-04-2010]

On July 3, 2010, a poll appeared on Fox News that said only 15% of the people polled said they believed that our Founding Fathers would be proud of our nation and the way it is heading today. On the other hand, 78% said they believed our Founding Fathers would not be proud of what they would see today. This tells us that the majority of the people in our nation know in their hearts that something is fundamentally and terribly wrong. What is wrong is that we have chosen (or some of our leaders have for us) to ignore the role that only an Almighty God, who loves and cares for all humanity, could have played in the birth and growth of our nation. This Great God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ is indeed the only true Author of Liberty for all people, and unless we repent as a nation and turn back to Him we stand on this eve. of our Independence Day of losing all the freedom and greatness that so many of our men and women have paid the ultimate price through the years for us to enjoy. I urge every one, don't just dismiss these thoughts as those of some "religious fanatic." Research for yourself. Use the mind and thought process that God has granted you. Look back into the writings of our Founding Fathers and see their faith and their intentions. Don't blindly follow the deceitful teachings of revisionist historians who don't believe in God or simply dismiss God from events in the lives of people and nations. Pray for our nation, beginning with prayers of repentance for our sins of turning our backs on the One who has given us all that we have. And when it comes time to vote, get out and let our "leaders" know that we will no longer simply blindly follow what they say and do, but hold them accountable to lead our nation in truth, morality, honor, and justice.
