This is a great site, but on the "Second Continental Congress" page, you typed "When the Redcoats fired into the Boston crowd in 1775, the benefit of the doubt was granted." If this is a reference to the Boston Massacre, didn't you mean to type "1770" instead of "1775"?

America is involved in a "right to life" battle that has nothing to do with Roe vs. Wade. Contact your elected officials, vote, and speak with your friends. America's enemies are using everything they have learned from US, and the bipolar political system to divide and conquer US. Peace be with you always... and all ways.

I came across this by in a strange way and am glad I did. I learned about this from an inmate. I learned about the compromise of 1787 so I came to look it up. I was never taught about that in school myself. Thanks. I am a very conservative person and voter. So I don't trust the liberal slant the media puts on most things today. Which it does and it rewrites History with a liberal bias. But at least this info I got tonight was interesting and informative and a sad but none the less true part of our History. Thanks for your site. There have been many things done wrong in the name of "right". Esp as Obama is doing now! He is destroying our country as it was originally established. Our forefathers would be appalled at what is happening were they to be alive today. But thanks for your site.

I am a descendant of John Haviland - born Somerset England - who designed many buildings in Philadelphia. John Haviland has an excellent write up on this website - well done for that ! Alas, his Son 'John De Havilland' - born near Philadelphia - is probably even more famous as he served in the US Army. There is no mention of this important Son of your country on this website. John De Havilland served as an adjutant lieutenant in the 3rd Regiment United States Dragoons Army of General Worth during the boundary war with Mexico (1846-1848). John de Havilland later became a barrister at the Inner Temple London England as well as a Professed Knight of Justice of the Order of Malta. For copies of original documents - pertaining to John Haviland and John De Havilland - some of which are US military - please contact me.

America has made quite an astonishing transformation since we recieved our independance. Our nation has fought many brutal wars since then but look at what we have over come. We gained and lost but our nation is stronger than it ever has been. We have come a long way since the Proclamation of 1763, when we couldn't go west of the Appalachian Mountains. Or how about when Fort Necessity was destroyed by the French and forced Washington to surrender? Look how far we came. We fought against the British and gained our land and freedom. "Land of the free and the home of the brave!" If it weren't for our founding fathers and the Declaration of Independance, we wouldn't be the wonderful country we are. "One nation, under God." I thank our fathers and our soldiers that have fought for our freedom. Thank you and God bless!

My heart is broken, at the Shambles that our weakened Congress has made of our Country. This Country was formed on Firm Christian Values, and Our Great Fore Fathers Were A Force That No-one Wanted 2 Reckon With. I am a Natural Born United States Citizen. And I can't even get food. I have no car, not able to qualify 4 a USDA Home Loan. Yet I see all the Businesses are owned by Green Card Immigrants, while the people who were born here can't get a Grant 2 open a business, or a bottle of pop. Do any of you actually believe that when our Declaration & Constitution were signed, they meant for us to turn our backs on our own people, in order to give these things away to a Foreigner, to bring them onto our own soil, and slap us in the face with the fact that they can get whatever they need from our gov. programs, and we the people CAN'T. I wonder what Our Great Forefathers would REALLY think of that.
Gina Marie Corser, 50 year old disabled female. Yucca Valley, CA. 92284 [11-09-2009]
We all need a history lesson,to go back over our historic documents. Most have forgotten what they say, many people died for those words so people could have freedom. If people do not educate themselves again reguarding our God given rights, the lack of knowledge can kill you or put you in a bad way.
