Review of the Controversy

The Liberty Bell is moving, and it's headed for a place George Washington once called home.

But the spot has a dark history — a legacy of slavery. So is it appropriate that America's symbol of freedom be housed there?

Historians and local residents have accused the National Park Service of trying to cover up the existence of this less than noble fact of American history with the new $9 million pavilion.
