2013 Registration Instructions

Registration will be open from January 25 to February 8, 2013. Please note: February 8 is also the due date for website and paper projects.

General Notes

• There are still no fees for the NHD Philly competition.
• Teachers MUST enter the basic information about each of their students and their entries as well as their school information, BEFORE the students can begin to register.
• However, teachers have an option to register their students' projects entirely.
• Each participating school will be limited to 27 projects at the NHD Philly contest. If your school is going to use half or more of your 27 projects for a single category please contact Ang Reidell or 215.606.0103
• If you choose to register your students' projects, make sure to download the release forms (available on the registration website) for each of your students. Note: Teachers must enter the basic information before students can complete their own registrations.

Information teachers need to start the registration process

• student school
• student name
• teacher assigned 4-digit PIN for each student
• competition division (Junior, 6-8; Senior, 9-12)
• entry category
• basic title for each student project

What you need to know before you start

• You will need to assign each of your students a 4 digit PIN, as their personal ID number for the system. The system prompts you for the "Last Four Digits of Home Phone", but the PIN can be any 4-digit number. This PIN will enable your students to go into the system on their own and edit any of their personal and/or entry information.
• If you need to, you are able to complete your registration over several sessions.
• A green check mark next to an item indicates that it is completed accurately.
• Students and teachers will receive an e-mail confirmation that they are registered, when they have completed registration.
• All students must also complete our media release form, which is available for download during registration. Bring these forms with you to the competition.

How you begin

Go to the online registration:

1. From the "registrant type" drop-down menu at the bottom of the page, choose "educator with competing students."
2. If this is your first time registering in the system this academic year, choose the "create a user name and password" link. As the educator, you will be required to enter some basic information about you and your school to enter the system.
3. You MUST enter the basic information about each of your students and their entries as well as your school information, before the students can begin to register.
4. When you are done, you may choose two buttons: "E-mail me a confirmation of my registration" or "Finished for now. Save and log out."
