Maxwell Retreats

Thomas Sullivan, a British sergeant, recorded the following in his journal.

"We played upon them with two 6 pounders for half an hour, and drove them out of their breastworks, which were made of loose wood, upon the declivity of the hill. The 2nd Brigade British, formed upon another hill upon our left and played their two six pounders upon the enemy's battery at Chad's Ford."
