The pictures in this photo essay were by W.S. Trinkle, documenting the Liberty Bell's journey from Philadelphia to San Francisco and back again in 1915.
|
The photographer's father, W.W. Trinkle, M.D., was on the Common Council of the Joint Special Committee that helped organize this journey to San Francisco. His son was an 18 year old photographer and was invited to join in to chronicle the events and to create, for profit, photo albums. There are only five albums known to exist.

The locations are those hand-written with the photographs in the album. The pictures online represent just a small percentage of the pictures in the album.
