Saturday, October 1, 2011 — 8am–8pm — FREE!
On Saturday, October 1, 2011, join the Association of Philadelphia Tour Guides (APT) for The Great 12-Hour, River to River, Vine to Pine, Rain or Shine Tour of Philadelphia. You can walk the entire 12-hour tour or join in at any time during the course of the tour.
The guided walking tour is FREE and covers over 200 historic sites and attractions! The tour kicks off at 8:00am at the WHYY building and ends at 8:00 pm at the Waterworks on the Schuylkill River.
Led by expert guides from the Association, The Great Philly Tour comprises four consecutive phases:
| 8am | Meet at WHYY Studios lobby, 150 N. 6th Street, south of Race Street, for Old City tour |
| 11am | Meet at the Bourse, 5th Street entrance, between Market and Chestnut Streets, for Society Hill tour |
| 2pm | Meet at the Philadelphia History Museum, 15 S. 7th Street, front entrance, for Center City tour |
| 5pm | Meet at the City Hall center courtyard, Broad & Market Streets, for Rittenhouse to the Schuylkill tour |
Many members of Philadelphia’s Historic Neighborhoods Consortium will offer tour participants short preview site visits, as well as special discounts for future visits.
