2009 Declaration Guestbook Entries: May-June

I did not go to school here. I did not read the History of USA. This is an eye opener to me. Many countries have suffered at the hands of the British including the country I came from. God Bless America.

Amazing God is the main principal of our government foundation and he blessed our Founding Fathers with the knowledge and vision for our government. For me it is the one doucment that reminds me every day that, I'm a free woman with God Given rights. So As American citizens Don't turn away for God and he will not turn away from us.

Hi. Thanks for a great site which helps educate people on one of the often forgotten or ignored facets of American history. The importance of the Declaration cannot be overestimated. It is unique in the history of the world. In the days following 9/11,when the nation was in mourning, I had the privilege of doing a recitation of the Declaration for a small group(a few dozen) friends. 8 years later, people still come to me and tell me how much it impacted them to hear it spoken aloud, and what a cathartic experience it proved to be. America Rocks! Owen Battles Murfreesboro, Tn.

I think the DOI is one of the most eloquently written pieces of literature the world has ever seen. It tells of the amazing fortitude of our framers to cast off those binders of government and create a society in which people can thrive and live harmoniously...but with a Christian-based value system. It doesn't say that people must be Christian, but it leans towards Christian tendencies. It is interesting that it also states the following "And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor." Read that again if you would. How powerful! You don't live like that??? Try treating just one person tomorrow with that type of conviction. I love this document. Steve

It seems to me that the Declaration of Independence as written by the founding fathers points directly to the only way people are created equal, which is spiritually. We each have the same enlivening Godchip, therefore, the same access to God - or Source Energy. In the draft document they used the word, "inherent", and refer to 'free' as the Natural Order of things. In this, our Declaration of Independence is encoded to remind us that our liberty is hard-wired into each and every one of us, naturally, without any additions or definitions by man, including organized religions. We are inherently (spiritually) free creatures with direct access, equally, to God - Universal Intelligence, Godmind, wisdom and guidance. Pretty cool.

I have been to D.C. to view the original documents of our nations history. A history that all Americans have inherited and made us the great nation we are today. "If we can better understand our past and where we came from, We can better understand where we are going". Seeing the documents in person is something that every American needs to do in his/her life time. The experience has given me a better understanding of what it means to be an American and the struggles this nation went thru to start us on a path destiny to give freedom and human rights to all mankind. We should never take our freedoms for granted cause the moment we loose all freedoms is when we appreciate freedom the most. In conclusion my visit to D.C. and the viewing of the charters of independence was a humbling and very memorable experience one that I will never forget.

The declaration of Independence is a very strong document. I believe it helped create a bond between Americans of all different cultures and backgrounds. Because it brought them to the common believe that all men were created equally and deserve to be treated that way. And it was also a building block for the Constitution. Since the people knew that the government wouldn't let them down. It is without a doupt one of the greatest documents ever written by mankind.

We have forgotten the laws of the land which founded the ground for our country. There are so many events in history which have been forgotten or not recorded at all. There is still history to be retrieved and to be made. We are the people who can make a difference. May GOD be with us! PS. Just a thought: Movies make the account of some historical moments stretch out, but that's not to say that it can't have truth to them.

When I read this and our Constitution, combined with books like "The 5000 Year Leap" and Levin's new book, "Liberty and Tyranny," it makes me feel as if our founding documents were written for today, right now, with its subject matter being our present day political leadership. I would like to know about the, Declaration that was found in PA. I also want to share the fact, that I just recently, started to get interested in the 1776 War year and found some pretty interesting things of the War. Makes me wish I had listened more in High School. This is a great learning site.

Thank you Declaration of Independence for helping write an essay against Prop 8. (: Yes, you were an act of treason but thanks for our Independence, too.

I believe the government has forgotten the Declaration of Independence. They need to read it over and over again and study what was happening at the time. The Justice Department needs to inforce the Declaration not try to make new laws from the bench. This is an old and beautiful document and needs to be preserved, respected and protected by ALL Americans and elected officials.
