Hearings for Black Horse Inn scheduled

Two days of public hearings on development plans for the Black Horse Inn property on Bethlehem Pike, Flourtown, are scheduled for Oct. 23 and 24.

The Springfield Township Board of Commissioners will hold the hearings at the Springfield Township High School auditorium beginning at 7 p.m.

New plans for the historic site filed with the township now call for razing the inn and erecting new, separate buildings for a CVS drug store, a bank and a state liquor store.

Much of the lot would be paved for parking. Earlier plans proposed restoring the inn for use as a bank branch.
