Last Wednesday, October 12, 2005, State Senator Vince Hughes toured the historic Black Horse Inn in Flourtown, PA to show his support for the ongoing restoration of the building and to discuss with local officials and community volunteers just how he could help. Senator Hughes was accompanied by two members of his staff. After spending a half hour touring the building the Senator sat down at the local Starbucks with township officials and community activists and learned more about the restoration effort and its importance to the overall revitalization of Historic Bethlehem Pike. The Senator called the Black Horse Inn restoration the “linchpin” of that larger revitalization and vowed he would work in conjunction with State Representative Larry Curry to help ensure that a $500,000.00 Capital Budget line item for the restoration would become a reality.
